After an owl is tapped for a chaw they can continue their studying and training in a more advanced class. It is up to the owl's responsibility to master that chosen field.
Owl Studies: Gizzard Matters
(Open to All chaws)

This course teaches an owl to look further into their most precious organ. The gizzard. Owls will further their research by familiarizing themselves with this organ and what this organ features, whether it be emotions or grinding up the last tweener meal.
Advanced Battle-Claw Fighting Techniques
(Search and Rescue Chaw)
Taught by ryb: Open
This course will further an owls training with battle claws teaching them the art of the battle claw. An owl will learn defensive and offensive maneuvers as well as methods of clawless defense against battle-clawed opponents.
Ga'Hoolian History
(Open to All chaws)
Taught by ryb Zindara
This course traces Ga'Hoole's social, political, and cultural developments. Along with the key topics the Legends of Ga'Hoole will be closely studied.
Fire and Ice Weapons
(Open to All Chaws)
Taught by ryb: Open
This course will introduce and train owls on the art of fire and ice weapons. Owls are required to have minimal training with battle claws because this class will be taught while using battle claws. All owls will also learn how to harvest ice, blade honing, and proper weapon storage and preservation. During the fire course all owls will be taught thermal disturbances, efficient branch ignition, and how wind patterns affect combustion.

This course will introduce owls to the healing arts. Topics covered include owl physiology, the proper use of worms and leeches, the history of major owl plagues, and the preparation of potions and medications.
Blacksmithing
(Metal Chaw, Also Open to the Colliering Chaw)

Owls who have received their Forge Safety Certificate can formally begin their study in the art of blacksmithing. At the forge, students will be referred to as apprentices. Apprentices will learn to identify bonk coals, build and maintain forge fires, and correctly use hammer and tongs.
Hurricanes, Tornadoes, and Other Weather Phenomena
(Weather-Interpretation Chaw)

This course will further teach owls of the weather chaw how to fly safely and correctly in any type of weather. Owls in this course must always be ready to fly at a moment's notice.
Independent Study and Exchange Program
(Open to All Chaws)
The rybs of the great tree promote the pursuit of knowledge beyond whats offered at the tree. Therefore we offer an exchange program with the Glauxian Brother's retreat in the Bitter Sea. Guardians are encouraged to spend a season or two studying and meditating with the brothers.
